This show is not your ordinary gallery exhibit with art on the walls. ." Candy Shop Exhibit" - is an experience of Art as a sweet indulgence. It’s A gallery filled with popArt, traffic stopping paintings and candy sculptures.
New Orleans is a foodie town, and I wanted to create this ART foodie “ restaurant” experience, to serve up a delicious way to indulge on art. The paintings subject matter is “Lips” on canvas. Some lips are eating donuts, some are drinking Martinis. Showing a true celebration of life and sweet indulgences.
Catering this foodie experience, with a "quench your art thirst" kind of approach. There is a Menu Board at the entry, the visitors can choose which room they wish to indulge on, to go SEE, SMELL and TASTE.
1. You can SEE giant candy sculptures and lips canvases ( Jeff Koons inspired and decked out in street art palettes)
2. You can TASTE the candy. Sculptures made out of candy. A display of playful sweetness with a twist. Serving up a good portion of candy with candy sculpture, which is made out of tennis superstar’s Maria Sharapova’s Candy brand “Sugarpova”.
This brand collaboration with Maria Sharapova’s candy brand Sugarpova, sweetly seals this entire concept of the "Candy Shop”.
Transforming the show it into PopArt Candy Wonder Land.
3. You can SMELL the candy. Each room in the gallery is scented, to create a full sensory experience! ( One room is drenched in floral scents, another room smells like cake and candy).
With the candy sculptures, spring blooming flower installation at the entry of “Candy Shop” sign. And did I mention there are glow in the dark paintings? which the kids absolutely love!
At the "Candy Shop” Each visitor of every age can indulge on a cocktail, no age restrictions, ID required!! The happy hour is all Day. Everyday! Here at the Candy Shop visitors are served Candy in long stem Martini Glasses! Cheers to art!
What could be a swankier way to quench your art thirst!? ;)
